The first thing to mention that's new is this web site. The main site created totally using Microsoft Publisher 97. In the past all of my web site publications were created using Netscape software. Using M.P. 97 however is an entirely new experience. In fact though the pages are easy to make in Publisher 97 once they are converted into a web page they are so complicated that Netscape Composer can't even touch them. M.P.97 does things like taking several graphics that are close together and imbeds them into one graphic as it converts them. It converts text into graphics files so they can't be edited from any other source. It automatically creates mapped graphics for menus. It's almost too easy to create a web page with it, but almost impossible to edit afterwards. The key is the fact you must save your web site/page out as a publication so that it can be edited after it is created, and then regenerated into HTML.
This text you are reading now isn't in text format, it has been converted into a graphics format. It is in fact a picture file now. There is no cut and paste available on pages created by MSP 97 because of that.
While all these powerful features are neat there are a few drawbacks. For example animated graphics files get nuked.
Anyway I'm real new to this method of making a web site so I hope everything turns out all right.
