MS.P.97 sometimes does strange things with pictures, like reducing their quality to make them load faster. Look for the yellow border.

To the upper left you see Laura and Kristy waiting for a boat to take us around the Island to see Flipper.  Yes, we could have just walked over there as it was only about 200 yards from where we were swimming.  But everyone loves a boat ride, right ?  :-)

Left you see the girls playing with Jake "Flipper".  He likes to play games, have his back rubbed, jump into the air and of course loves a nice fresh fish for a snack.

Here the girls and I are standing on a floating platform where Flipper has deep water under him and we have shallow water to stand in.  I accidentally fell off this platform into the water.

Jake was talking to us in this shot.  He would answer questions with a yes or no shake of his head and make sounds, chirps and whistles.  Dolphins are really quite smart.  And

FAST in the water.  If you see our home video you will know what I am talking about.

Now about that snack !

I don't recall just how many pounds of fish that a dolphin eats in a day but it's a lot.

In the wild these dolphins only live to about 15 years of age.  In captivity though they can live to be 30-40 years old.

The Salt Cay dolphin center has 12 dolphins.  If you ever get a chance, go there to see them.
