In Dracula, Dr. Seward's daughter is mysteriously ill and continues to lose her blood and becomes very weak every night. Her fiancee, Harker is staying by her side to keep tabs on her. Meanwhile, Dr. Seward's patient, Renfield, keeps making weird comments about life and bats keep getting in the house. A new neighbor has just moved into the mansion across the road. It is the mysterious Count Dracula. Lucy, Dr. Seward's daughter, is drawn to Dracula despite her love for Harker. (we later find out it is because Dracula intended for her to become his bride/queen). Dr. Seward decides he has done all he can and brings in Mr. Van Helsing; an expert at the supernatural. He is the one who discovers Dracula is a vampire and takes measures to stop him. But Dracula is very clever and uses the Maid, (Ms. Wells), to get to Lucy through hypnosis. Later, Van Helsing, Dr. Seward, and Harker have Dracula cornered when he disappears magically in the fireplace. They follow him through the tunnel and discover Renfield has been serving Dracula for months, and end up disposing of Dracula at the very end of the show...or so it seems.
