My name is Allen and I have actually had several encounters with the famous Genasty from ghostchatter. I myself run a paranormal chat room and website called thehauntedzone.com where people share their true paranormal experiences and get support. Our group is quite the opposite from ghostchatter. I was inspired by ghostchatter to create a chat site that actually treats people nice....we are nice to our new members and happy to have them as well as thrilled to hear their stories, we do not rule with an iron fist at our site!
 
I have been banned by genasty 3 times since 2005 and each time I have changed my IP and used a different ISP to get back into the room just to see if she has changed and of course, she hasn't. It all started in 2005 the very first time I discovered their site. My user name was "TheGhostHunter"....no particular reason, I just thought it up and thought it would go good in a paranormal chat room. As soon as I entered the room, even before creating a profile, I was accused of being one of the members from T.A.P.S and was accused of trying to spy on them and when I innocently said "no I'm not.." I was called a liar and a deceiver and was banned instantly. How unfair and totally wrong is that?

The second time I entered the room and at the time I had dial up which occasionally lost connection like most dial up connections do.....I entered the room and as soon as I did the Internet froze and disconnected me and when I re-connected and tried to log in, I was banned and I didn't even get a chance to do anything at all. After sending them 3 emails and about 2 weeks later I finally received an email from them saying that I was banned for not created a profile fast enough. I replied saying that my Internet disconnected and never did receive a response and of course, remained banned from the room.

>BES> To reinstate you at that time would be to admit they were wrong by banning you.  They can't do that otherwise they would have to admit the truth to their motivations and the fact they've done this to a lot of innocent people.  They must justify their misdeeds to themselves first as they are very insecure people.
 
The third and final time, I was actually lucky enough to remain a member for a few days before she banned me. I was chatting with this other person and there was no story going on, nothing special was being talked about and I was banned because I asked the person if they ever heard of this one song that I liked.....as soon as I asked that Genasty went off in one of her psycho rages and said "this is not a music chat this is a ghost chat...goodbye" and again....I was banned.

>BES> Normally a chat-host host will warn someone when they are doing something against the rules.  Usually people get at least three warnings before they are banned.  Something as innocent as asking about a song shouldn't concern a chat host. 
 
Oh if only someone could get them shut down! On my paranormal website I now have 4 "ex-members" of ghostchatter who come into my chat and tell us about what has happened to them at ghostchatter.....simply unbelievable things!

>BES> I'm surprised her own people haven't rose up against her and shut her down.  Usually if a person sends out enough bad karma they eventually get it back in spades.  I think eventually their bad energy will consume them.  The things they fear the most will become an entity and have them for a meal.  I've seen this happen to people myself which is why I always try to be nice to people, unless they really are total jerks then I just don't talk to them.  The devil has my number now and it makes no difference where I go what I say or how I talk someone always lets me have it.   This is why I don't log onto chat forums or use IM's anymore.

Pretty damn amazing how so many people are abused at that place daily!

>BES>  I actually liked the Strange Happenings site for awhile until I got blasted by two people who didn't even believe in ghosts.  They were just looking for an argument and could have blasted anyone  but they chose me.  Their messages indicated their serious lack of intelligence.  The hosts of that site let the troublemakers get away with it so I don't log on there anymore either.  I left their link here out of respect for the people who run the site and wish them well.  I don't have time or the desire to waste it arguning with idiots about the existance of UFOs or paranormal phanomina.  When I log onto a chat forum of any kind I've all ready broken my first rule about not giving out my Email addresses.  When I take time to read or respond to other people's messages I'm spending time that should be spent somewhere else.  So when I get blasted by idiots on a forum you can bet I won't argue I just won't be back.  Chat hosts should be aware that a few bad people on their forums will run off all the people they would find advantagous to their forums.  If they leave bad messages on the fourm people like myself will read them and not bother to log on or take part in thier fourms.  I always scan messages in a forum before I ever log on.  If I see any bashing going on I won't register on that site.

I told the following story of my bad encounter with ghost chatter before I even knew the Strange Happening's site existed!  Meaning that I didn't get booted from their chat for being registered on some other forum.

Ghostchatter.com hostess kicked me off saying I was trying to exploit their chat members!  After reading some of the messages from others who've been kicked off the ghostchatter.com site I'm literally shocked.  I had no idea there were people as mean as that out here harassing the on line public interested in the paranormal! And they complain they are the ones being harassed!  There's no question about it, they are creating their own enemies and reaping the seeds they have sown.

Ghost Chatter is one of the rudest chat sites I've ever been on they are not professionals in the field of paranormal research, they aren't even good enough to be called amateurs. They spend more time insulting their innocent visitors than actually doing or discussing paranormal research.  One person had been a member of ghostchatter.com for a year before they were kicked off.  That person said there's no real paranormal discussions on the live ghostchatter.com chat.  They sometimes tell ghost stories but they are not concerned with serious investigative research.

They are creating enemies as fast as they can and justifying it to themselves by another term.  Every time they kick an innocent out of their chat site or ban them they give that person reason to find others who have received the same treatment for no good reason.  My count of people who've been kicked off ghostchatter.com is now in the hundreds.  I've read quite a lot of messages from people who have been abused by the ghostchatter people and I can see that some of them express their feelings in colorful language.  Though I feel that some of the offended might have used other words to describe what happened to them I do understand their feelings and anger since it also happened to me.  Honestly some of them were kicked off ghostchatter.com just because they were members of another paranormal forum. If Genasty were an intelligence person she would be trying to prove others wrong by doing the right thing for a change, but Genasty seems to enjoy having enemies.  For her to know who to kick off because they were registered with another forum she would have to spend a lot of time going through the messages on that forum and taking down names.  To do that indicates paranoia, which is a psychological/mental disorder.

I found out she originally concealed her real name and was furious when someone else revealed it.  I use my real name all the time because I have nothing to hide.  I'm easy to find on the Internet just do a search for "Bryon Smith" and "Spooky Places" and you will find me.  But not Genasty, she's got something to hide and a reason she doesn't want her real name to be known.  If she were an honest person she wouldn't need to worry about that would she?  But criminals wear masks sometimes.

I have learned that being kicked out of ghostchatter.com is a badge of honor and reason to be proud.  Those who get kicked out of there have earned a special place among legitimate paranormal researchers.

My sympathy to everyone who Genasty and her chat hostesses have offended.  There's nothing peaceful, kind or helpful about them.  If you or anyone you know has been abused by the ghostchatter people while innocently asking for help then please send us an E-mail and ask your question.  I've been researching the paranormal since the 1960's and working with experienced people in the field.  I've seen and experienced things most people couldn't even imagine.  If I can't answer your question then I can point you toward someone else who can.

My story is below.

Please notice the "without fear of ridicule" part of that message.  The link above was found on a website having quite a lot of links to paranormal websites and chat areas dealing with the paranormal.  It was the only one listed that mentioned someone being ridiculed for believing in ghosts.  While I was on there they were talking about everything but ghosts and hauntings.  I went there looking for help and got a swift kick in the face.  I realized quickly their advertisements of being friendly and no fear of ridicule is bogus.  You don't have to worry about the chat members, just the hosts and hostesses.

I went to a church once that had a sign that said they were the friendliest church around, as if they felt the need to make that statement.  Come to find out they were without question the most unfriendly church in that area.  Since then I have not set foot in a church that advertised that they were friendly.  Truly friendly churches, websites and chat areas need not proclaim how friendly or safe they are.  If they feel they need to say that in order to gain visitors then there's a good chance they are being deceptive and anything but friendly to all their visitors.

I've been in some seriously unfriendly chat areas forums and mailing lists in the past. I was in the BBS Echo mail business before there was an Internet.  I ran Paranet Tau.  I am the founder of the original Dream Link dream discussion group on the BBS and brought it from there to the Internet.  I've studied human behavior much longer than that.  I've worked with the director of the New Project Blue Book on UFO investigations.  One thing that runs true in almost every case is that bad mean or rude people do not see themselves as being bad.

Nearly everyone I've talked with about the subject of the paranormal has been friendly with me.  I assumed from past experiences in paranormal chat rooms that everyone who visited or worked in ghost chat rooms were friendly, thanks to the ghostchatter.com hostesses I found out I was mistaken.  I thought about this for awhile and wasn't going to bother to share it but then I considered that if someone had warned me of ghostchatter.com's unfriendly hostesses it could have saved me from a very bad experience.  There are others out there who might like to know that not everyone who talks about ghosts are friendly.

Awhile back I was asked by a D.J. to find some good haunted locations around the Fort Smith, AR area.  I've been down that road before.  Although I am aware of a few very good locations in this area I am not aware of locations that will allow a real investigation intended for media use.  The D.J. said "We won't be telling anyone where we are during the show."  I told him I would help and I set out to find some new locations.

Since it's easier to search on line than it is to start driving all over the city and asking people questions I logged on several live chat sites and began asking people there hoping to find someone else living in or near this area who could help. I was treated well at other chat sites but when I logged into the ghostchatter.com website I was booted off on my third line.  I told them "HI" told them who I was and then told them what I was looking for and that was it! 

Thinking it was a network error and knowing I've never been kicked out of a chat in my life for any reason I logged back on and before I could say "HI" again I was booted again.  I received an insulting message from one of their moderators telling me I was trying to exploit their chat members!  I said "WHAT?"

I've never heard that line before in this field of research. I've never met anyone who had a ghost story to tell who didn't want their story to be shared with everyone. She said she was insulted that I couldn't do my own research!  Tell me how you find previously unpublished haunted locations without asking people.  Asking people is doing your research, it is the nature of this field of research.  It is perfectly clear at this point she is not a serious paranormal investigator nor is she a good chat hostess.  She has another motive behind her madness.

At the bottom of her message she said "If there's something we can help you with don't hesitate to ask."  HA!  So I responded telling them that perhaps their chat members would like to be part of something larger.  Recognizing that it is their chat and they have the right to run things the way they see fit I sent a very nice apology telling her that if she has people in their chat who are afraid someone will find out they believe in ghosts then I'm sorry if I offended anyone.  I got no response.  I thought about this for awhile and it occurred to me that people who are afraid someone will find out they believe in ghosts do not log onto or use chat areas and tell their ghost stories.  So I logged onto some other chats and told them what had happened to me at ghostchatter.com and everyone I told said the same thing I had, "What?"  and "What's wrong with them?"  I said "I have no idea."

I thought about that for awhile and do have an idea. Can you say ulterior motives? People who have something going on they don't want someone else to find out about will do things to filter out certain people from their activities.  They make ridicules excuses to explain and rationalize their suspicious behavior.  If someone is preaching a lie to a group of "followers" in order to control them they certainly do not want someone else who knows the truth to interfere with their agenda and confront the lies with the truth.  With ghostchatter.com it could be as simple as them wanting someone to pay them for access to their chat members.  Then again there is a certain power that comes from the ability to kick someone out of a chat area, and there are those who feed their ego's on just such things.

Being an investigator at heart I set in to find the truth.  Yes ghostchatter.com is a commercial system run by people who intend to make money from their chat members.  Yes ghostchatter.com is a business!  I found a news article posted by a reporter who said this about the ghostchatter.com people.  Yes the ghostchatter.com founders want to keep their chat people paranoid in order to control them. They want them to believe they are their only friends in order to get them to pay to come to their events.

In an interview with a news person they said...

"To discourage party crashers and cynics, however, organizers are keeping the exact location secret until they receive a nonrefundable deposit. "

"We're a peaceful group," Gennie said. "We don't want to be heckled."

I love this part, the truth is "No they are not a peaceful group" and "They do the heckling."

If they were truthful they would have a HUGE logo advertising "the most unfriendly paranormal chat site on the web!"  Followed by "Enter At Your Own Risk!"  If they were honest and legitimate and friendly they wouldn't need to be concerned about party crashers, but they have created their enemies and now they reap the seeds they have sown.

If I were setting up an event like the one they mention and charging for it I would be thrilled to tell everyone where and when the event would be held.  If a non believer shows up then perhaps he or she can see something that will change their minds about the subject.

These ghostchatter.com people are hiding something.  I wonder if they are reporting their income to the IRS?  People who have legitimate businesses do not slam the door in professional people's faces so quickly.  Why? Because they can benefit and might use that person's name to promote their event.  You will find my name posted on the Universal Passing Over event to be held Oct. 28th in Las Vegas, NV.  Yes my friend Vickie is using my name and some of my other friend's names to promote her event.  That's how it works.  You want the people to know who's going to be there speaking for them.

I'm not a heckler, I'm a firm believer in the paranormal, yet they kicked me out so fast it would make your head spin.  In my many years of investigating the paranormal I've not met anyone who's heckled me for believing in ghosts.  Heckled for believing in UFO's YES but not ghosts.  I've had people tell me they didn't believe in ghosts but they have not heckled me about it.  I know that ghosts and spirits exist the same as I know that UFO's also exist.

My question about a haunted location was a legitimate question.  No one is making any money from it!  Maybe they think someone is and they expect to be paid for any information that comes from members of their chat site.  If that were the case why didn't they just ask to be paid for the information I asked for?  Unless they didn't have the information I was asking for, and I'll bet they didn't.  Certainly I know more about this area than they do.

Please notice the reference that says they must receive a non refundable deposit.  The people who run GhostChatter.com are the ones who are exploiting their chat users in ways that I wouldn't have had the audacity to.  That doesn't give them the right to insult other believers or more experienced investigators wether they make money on their investigations or not.  I don't charge for doing investigations.  So far I've not charged for speaking at an event. They charge for their events.

I'm doing some video work for a very large national organization that works with the mentally Ill and police and government agencies.  Their statistics indicate that one out of every five people has a mental illness or is physiologically disturbed.  Everyone knows someone and probably several people who has a mental problem.  Ghostchatter.com has a ".COM" website yet they are afraid that someone else is going to exploit their chat members.

They are without question trying to isolate their chat people from more experienced paranormal researchers.  That was my first thought anyway until I found out they are kicking others out who came to their chat for help.  People asking legitimate questions, as I had are being kicked out without reason or legitimate explanation.

I've never seen such hostility in a paranormal chat site.  Non professionals in a chat area should be thrilled to have an experienced paranormal investigator in the chat so they can ask questions and tell their story.  A chat host should be thrilled to have an experienced investigator visit their site and they should tell everyone for their own benefit.  You are only exploited if you choose to be.  You are only a victim if you choose to be.  Paranormal chat areas are for sharing your paranormal stories so share them and enjoy the fellowship.

I can tell you if you go to a chat area where experienced paranormal investigators frequent you won't be treated badly.  So click on the link to Ghost Research and check out their chat forums.  I think you will receive a pleasant reception.

We have never charged anyone for doing a paranormal investigation. Our purpose in this subject area is to learn and to help other people to understand the paranormal.  Though it would be nice to pay the expenses we have never broken even on any investigation and we do not do paranormal investigations to make a profit.

I'm not the only one who's been banned from ghostchatter.com for no good reason. I've been cruising the web forums and finding others who have a sad story to tell about ghostchatter.com.  Check out what this poor person said.

"Apparently when a newbie gets online they must share a story. We CANNOT ask questions until they are finished. I asked a question before they were finished. I was banned!!! Geez! It sounds lame, but I feel bad about it--it's like being kicked outta the chess club when I can't play chess!!  "

I'm so sorry they did this and apparently they do it to a lot of innocent people who come asking for help.  If anyone needing help with a paranormal question just E-mail's me I will do what I can to either answer their question or connect them with someone who can.

Since I opened this page more and more people have been writing me telling me of their experiences at ghostchatter.com.  The following is a message from one of those people and  a response to that message.

Exactly right.  I'm 55 years old and my ghostly encounters started in my own bedroom.  I've been aware of ghosts for many years even though I was raised a Christian and most Christians don't believe in ghosts.  They tend to think the moment a person dies they go straight to heaven or hell.  I've learned a few things about that over the years because I ask questions and seek answers.  I don't believe everything someone tells me and only believe about half of what I see because there are deceptive spirits and well intending people who want to help and don't know what their talking about. 

I am aware and have witnessed the two angels who take people who are saved into the light.  I am aware of little shadow things that drag some unsaved people into the underworld, I've seen them.  I've talked to others who have seen them.  I've been in the underworld and I've been to the great city of light while in the spirit with two of those angels.  I'm just one of a few people who have been allowed to walk among the spirits and see what's going on out there and then return to life to tell people about it.  That's why Vickie Gay wants me to give a presentation at the Universal Passing Over event.  The rest of the time I'm like the rest of us, I am a sensitive but not a psychic medium and I'm looking for physical evidence that I can hand someone else to show them what I've learned while on the other side.  You just can't walk up to people who don't know you and tell them you've been out there walking and flying among the spirits and seen what goes on without being really ridiculed and called a nut.

I tried to explain one time that I was a professional in what I do; granted the word professional means all sorts of things. I used it as a way saying I was quite knowledgeable in my field of work. I go ridiculed for saying no one is knowledgeable in this field. Stuff happens and you deal with it and go on. Further more saying the world of the paranormal is never the same it's always changing. Ok, I know this but I know how to investigate and be a medium. I don't need some one telling me how my "gift" is or how it should work. Course this was from one of Genesta's "followers" again. I got so much bad rap from it I had to remove the word professional from my profile. Even after doing so I still got a few people telling me I was no professional and couldn't know what I was doing all the time.

I've done the same thing talking about this subject and said I was a professional in the field but professional means someone gets paid for doing it.  I have never been paid for ghost hunting but I have been paid for shooting video productions.  So I am a professional videographer but I am not a professional ghost hunter.  However the moment I begin selling Spooky Places videos of our ghost hunts I might get away with saying I am a professional ghost hunter.  What I am is a very experienced ghost hunter.  I can also testify that not all things that go bump in the night are ghosts, some of them are "other things" that never were human and some of them can take on human form to lead people to believe they are ghosts.  The catch is that when Jesus died he went into the underworld and  broke down the gates, the thing that held the souls captive down there.  He took His people with him back through this physical plane and let the angels take them into the light to the waiting place there.  Since the barrier between this world and the dead was opened those who might be kept there who are not in some way bound by the "things" there can return to walk the earth.  As such we have ghosts of the dead as well as demons and other "things" that work with the demons, the little shadow things.  I threw so many of those things out of this house while in the spirit over three months that I lost count.  My story is out there on my website.

The truth is there are people out here hunting ghosts who are not professionals who are very experienced and knowledgeable about the subject.  Vickie Gay is a professional psychic medium and she is also a ghost hunter who has an advantage because she can sense the ghosts and sometimes she can even see them.  While in body I've seen visible orbs, at least I saw them they were visible to me.  I've seen a few ghosts but not often and I've seen a full manifestation of a full sized shadow being standing not three feet from me here in the hallway in this house.  Then it went down the hallway and vanished into our bedroom.

I shot fishing shows "The Great Outdoors with Barry Benton" and gospel singer Billy Dale Sexton "Sing America Sing" commercials and the dirt track races and more plays than I can count.  I've been working in the video business for right at 20-21 years now.

If a person talks about their ghost hunting very long I can tell pretty quick just about how much they really know.  I also know that people who want to think they know things when they don't do not like to be around people who actually do know what's going on in the world of the paranormal.  That's what is going on with the ghostchatter.com people.  They like to believe in the delusion that they know what they are talking about when they don't.  There are people who get a euphoric high from the delusion and I believe this is what is happening over there.  It is part of the mental illness that Genasity stuffers from.  It is also somewhat contagious.  Weaker minded people can literally catch it and feed upon it.  Believe it or not manic depressives love the feeling they get from being on a serious low.  They love feeling bad!  The same thing happens to those who feed on the delusion, they get a feeling from it they love and they don't want anyone breaking that delusion.

It really was the worse experience I have ever had being in a so called paranormal place. The people who are there have barely any knowledge much less when you say some thing (especially after years of research and encounters) they tell your wrong.

I don't know what you told them to get that response but I am not surprised.  If they are protecting their delusion that's exactly how they would respond.  They kicked me out the moment they found out I was a videographer and experienced in the field of research.  That was on my third line!  They didn't want me talking to anyone in their chat group from that moment on.  Their excuse was that I was trying to exploit their chat members as if I needed them to tell me anything critical to the field.  Like they had secrets they didn't want outsiders to know.  I realized they were hiding something and had something going on there they didn't want everyone else to become aware of.  This is exactly how someone with a mental illness would respond if they were trying to protect their delusion.  You lasted in there much longer than most people so you should be very aware of what they are doing in that group.

I felt as though after 15 years of study and in the field I knew what I was talking about. I knew every one's opinions. One girl entered the chat room scared for what was going on in her home. I tried to calm her down with a simple "interview "and layout of what was going on. I tried to tell her to calm down because her fear was feeding the situation and I seen in most cases that the paranormal world knows this and "feeds" off of it.

You are exactly right, there are spirits who feed on fear and do their best to intimidate people.  Some of them are angry ghosts and some of them are non human spirits.  When a person is afraid they give off energy and some spirits can feed upon that energy and suck the life right out of a person.

Man did I get a room for of her "followers" telling me that was bullshit and that I had no clue what I was talking about. It was so bad I had to leave. I felt as though I was standing on stage getting quantities of fruit thrown at me for trying to help defuse the situation. I was flabbergasted that my own 15 years of research went down the drain all because they felt I was wrong. Shame really. Like I said so very glad I am no longer there. They feel they have all the right answers and when some one comes in with there own theories with profound study and field work you're looked upon as the ugly duckling.

If they don't think there are spirits who can feed upon fear they are delusional in that respect to.  They need to find out there are spirits who create their delusions who feed upon those delusions as well.  That is why they are the way they are and why anyone who knows anything about spirits knows there's something serious wrong with ghostchatter.com people.

No mater how much you care or what you say about it there will always be someone out there who will do their best to make you feel bad about it.  (Bryon Smith- - After being bashed on another popular ghost chat area for saying I'm sympathetic toward those with mental illnesses and mental disorders.  There are people who should be kicked out of some chat areas but they seldom ever are.  The only thing they are there for is to look for arguments and to find fault with anyone they can.  What they accomplish is they chase away people who are truly interested in the paranormal.  They chase away people who truly need help with the paranormal. They chase away people who are experienced investigating the paranormal, people who really could be some help and an asset to the chat or forum area.  Sadly this happened on a site I had intended to frequent this year during our paranormal investigations. I won't be going back.  I find it ironic and funny one of those bashers goes by the handle of "Mad Cow" and one of them said "Hitler may have been crazy but that's not why he killed all those people."  Oh no, he was just a genocidal mad man.  That's not why he murdered hundreds of thousands of people and tried to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.(Can you believe they insinuated that?)  He was mentally ill.  He was psychologically disturbed.  He was dangerous.  He wasn't diagnosed.  He didn't get help and he caused a war that cost many thousands of lives. It's clear these psychologically troubled souls do not want me in those forums and the forum managers don't really care how their visitors are treated.  I had dreams about them, dreams that told me it was not a place for me. Dreams that showed me what these heckler/bashers were really like.  These are posted on my dream website on examples page two.  I also learned that people who just don't care are not bashed or harassed by these people.  Just say "I don't give a crap, I hate them" and your better off than someone who cares.  This is what these people and these things teach us.  Is that the lessons they should be teaching people?  I will not mention this website's name because I wish them the best.  They have good potential.  I will say this is a site I've recommended on my site, but if the harassment doesn't stop on that site I will remove my link to that site from my sites.)
