Ghosts of Piper's

Under Construction.

Nestled in the mountains between Reno and Carson City, Nevada is Virginia City.  Once a booming city filled with cowboys and miners, now the reminder of times past.

A truly historical city with many buildings standing just as they were in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Several well known people got their start here in Virginia City, one of them was the well known writer Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.
People who live here frequently tell stories of hearing strange sounds or seeing apparitions of people dressed in 1800 to early 1900 attire.  It seems that not all of the dead have departed Virginia City.

This website is dedicated to one of those famous buildings where the ghosts of the dead have given the living a glimpse of another reality.  Those who encounter the ghosts of Virginia City must consider the possibilities of what comes after this life.

We take you now to Piper's Opera House along with a small group of brave souls who held a sleep-over at Pipers in 2003.  Your hostess is TV personality Victoria Monroe.

When you press the play buttons on the video clips give them time to load.  To the right is the opening clip without dialogue.  Below is the introduction segment and it is quit a bit larger despite its small size.  If you are using DSL or high speed cable you shouldn't have any problem viewing these files.  If you are using a phone modem you might wish to reconsider.
Meet the group.

Quicktime Warning!

If you have any problems with the video files on this site odds are your Quicktime is messing up your Windows Media player.  The files on this page work perfectly with Windows Media player.  I've had nothing but trouble Quicktime so I removed it and now both of my personal computers on this LAN play files perfectly.  If you have troubles viewing the files on this page remove your Quicktime and try again with Windows Media player only.

I have sought help from the Quicktime people but they are very reluctant to give help to their non paying customers.  Their help files are quick to tell you how to get Quicktime to play files but not how to prevent Quicktime from screwing up your browser and WMP from playing files.

I tried to get Quicktime to play AVI files and it says it can because there's an option for it.  I set it and it still can't play the AVI files.  I removed Quicktime and reinstalled it in order to convert the MOV files to AVI files.  While it was in there I tried again to get it to work with the AVI files on line and it still doesn't work.  I could not find any way to set Quicktime to leave my files alone and allow WMP to play the files.  I was forced once again to remove the program.

I've been a fan of Adobe programs in the past but the Quicktime department have problems both on their website and in their programs.  This problem is consistent on both my laptop and my main PC.  The only solution was to remove Quicktime completely from both computers.  This causes problems for me because my digital camera shoots mov files and now and then I need to either play them or convert them.
