This is an old Happy Pumpkin Day page that is way out of date.  It's only here because sometimes people like to read through the webpages to see what has happened in the past, and because I have not managed to get time to complete the update of the new area of the website.  This page and website were moved here from the old IPA site, which still exists but is not being used or updated at this time.  And it's only there because there are some search engines that can find it that can't find the new site for some reason even though I have done everything I know to get them listed near the top.

All the old pages will be removed as soon as I get time.

If you are here and choose to be and want to read the page here then have fun, if you wish you were back on the newer website then go and have fun.

It's over and it was GREAT

More news later and pictures will appear on this page when I get it ready.

Pictures must be imported from video.

Video tapes may be acquired with a small donation of $10 plus shipping.

Video consists of segments of both days and is aprox. 1:45 min long.

Send donation along with shipping money to

This page is being updated as progress continues toward
the Smith's Happy Pumpkin Day Party.

It is a very special time of the year.    It is the one time of the year when Laura & Kristy can invite all of their friends over to the house for a party.

I promised the girls they would have their studio for their ceramics, their TV productions and a place to have their "Happy Pumpkin Day Parties" and now we are all working hard and working overtime to make the dream come true.  This is also why most of you have not seen me on line very much the past few months.

Last year's party was a huge success, so much in fact that this year we have decided to give the kids and even their parents the opportunity to take part in the fun not for one night but for two.  The problem is that some people have other things to do on either the 30th or the 31st and when we have a party on one or the other day this leaves certain people unable to come.  In an effort to solve the problem we have decided that those who can't make it on one or the other day can come either day this year and take part in the fun.  Not only does this help solve that problem it allows some of them to come on both days. The only thing that we ask is that if you win a certain event on the first night of the party please let someone else win it on the second night.

As you arrive at the house, and if you have been here before you will notice that something is different.  I have all ready had visitors who have come to the house and said "we thought we had the wrong house."  Why ?  Because we have closed in the carport to build the mini-studio where all these fun things will take place.

9-25-1998 Update:  The new floor is in and we put in cabinets and counter yesterday for the server window that opens into the studio from the kitchen.

On your left as you enter that door you will find a table and some shelves with certain ceramic (and other things) items on display and someone will be taking "donations" (to sell) for these items.  All proceeds will go into a fund to help pay for the expenses of the party and to help make next year's party even better.  It is all for the children.

Some of the items on display will be ceramics that were made right here in the Rainbow Design Studio.  Some of these items will be very unique things we have designed and made right here and can only be found in certain places like Midland Bowl (if you like bowling pins) or the International UFO Museum in Roswell, NM if you like alien and UFO.  Other unique items will only be found here because they were made especially for this two night party.  Things like ceramic Jack-O-Lantern's that really light up.  Different size ceramic pumpkins.  Cups, dishes, angels, animals, etc.  There will be a few items which will be one of a kind and when they are sold they will be gone, and may not be seen here again until next year's party.  Four of these items are a large witch stirring a cauldron of candy.  A large beautiful fairy.  A very large lighted skull candy dish.  A beautiful glazed cauldron also full of candy.  Yes even some of the dishes with candy in them will be for sale.  The candy isn't for sale though but the dishes are.  The candy is free and admission is free.  Some of the items for sale will also be used as prizes for some of the games.

Some highly collectable items such as the California Raisins may also be for sale at this party.   A very cute porcelain "Windy the Witch" doll will also be on sale.  The girls are all ready begging to keep it but I told them they must sell it.  When you get here you will see who won.

Yes Folks, it's like being in the audience on a TV game show and some of you will be chosen to take part in the show on stage !  There will also be funny &/or scarry skits done by the Rainbow team.  It's a "sitcom" and a "game show" and you are invited.

Many of the games are new games because the girls and some of their close friends have come up with them.  These and other games may be conducted like a TV game show and fun for the entire family.  Some games will be spin-offs of older more familiar games like the Musical Cake Walk.  The girls have a game like this that is a Musical Pumpkin Walk.  There will be a huge pumpkin drawn on the concrete behind the house.  The pumpkin will have numbers on it and some Halloween tune will play while the kids walk around the pumpkin on the numbers.  When the music stops a number will be drawn from a box and who ever is standing on that number will win a prize.

There will be a costume contest for which awards will be given.

Some games will be just for "silly fun" like a game show they call "You Can't Win."  I can only guess what kind of game that will be.  They may even have a game show called "The Price is Fright" where you must choose a box / door and reach in and see what you have won.  Who's to say what might really be in those boxes ?

I'll be back every now and then with more updates to tell a little bit more about the contests and prizes.

Update 10-21-1998: All is on schedule, the studio is complete. The girls are working on their show and expect to have a full dress rehearsal this weekend while working the bugs out of the scripts.
