Web Search Engines

What One Is The Best and why ?

On this web page we are going to review and have another little contest (of sorts) of the most popular web search engines on the internet. At the moment I have few basic comments. The following are listed in order, best at the top and worst at the bottom.

InfoSeek is the best I have ever used because it is fast and easy to use. It searches for your web page while you wait. Not to mention I can usually find what I am looking for with InfoSeek.

I have made at least two attempts to register ISC with the WebCrawler and I know of another ISC member who also says he registered us with the WebCrawler well over a month ago and we are still not listed there. I admit when I first started using the web I used the WebCrawler most of all until I found InfoSeek. I honestly must say that it is better than Yahoo but not by much.

Yahoo is by far the worst I have seen (to date) because it is complicated, slow, and takes a great deal of time to sort out all of the very vague multiple pages of instructions before you can register a web page. They will visit your web site and decide if they will register the page on their system when they get around to it. Seldom ever find what I am looking for with Yahoo. If anyone has any doubts about the fairness of this quick review, just log on each one of these systems and register a web site with them, find out for yourself.

Yes they have all this stuff listed there, but guess what people ? The only way I can find to get listed on their service is to pay out a fortune to a listing service. They advertise you can get listed on over 200 search engines, for only $345. Say there eXcite, we are a non profit organization and just don't have $345 to give you. What's the poor guy to do ? What's the individual who has a web site to do ? What's the guy going to do who needs to search for some of these sites and people who can't afford to be listed on your web search index ? Simple, they are going to go use InfoSeek. Have a nice day.

I'm headed over to CNET to see what their reviews say about search engines and web design tools.
